Just recently, it was reported that a major health insurance carrier had lost a portable hard drive containing confidential customer data (social security numbers, bank information, etc). In the event something occurs that may affect your business, whether as major as the SQL Slammer worm of 2003 or something closer to home such as a critical server rebooting, it is important to have a response plan.
